Hi I've just got a new computer, I've connected the monitor and it doesn't work. The monitor is a month old and works on my other computer.

There are two plug sockets at the back of the new comp, one for the lead and another with holes for what looks like a means to connect a monitor.

However, my monitor does not connect this way and instead connects via that blue monitor hole.

Will it work on my new comp? Is there a way to get it to work? What should I do?

Advice needed, thanks.

The blue monitor hole is a vga connection, just found that out.

sounds like you have a video card with dvi port.

you will need to get your hands on a dvi to vga converter its a small adaptor but once you get that everything should work just like normal.

that is an example

you could probably run out to best buy or circuit city and ask or look for one there its a pretty common thing on new cards to come with a converter.

Enter the BIOS and set your video so that it looks to the AGP port first.
