Area of Square = Side * Side
Let the Side be S
so S * S = 196 cm sq.
S² = 196 cm sq.
S= √196 cm sq.
S = √14 * 14
S = 14 cm.
Therefore Side S = 14 cm

solution:

using the Area = side * side

let A = area , x = side

A = 196 cm^2

196 cm^2 = x^2

sqt both sides,

sqrt (196 cm^2) = sqrt (x^2)

using calculator,

x = 14 cm..

the sides is 14 cm.
