I can totally understand names that kids have because of their ethnic background, but making up names that are super weird just doesn't make sense to me.

I don't understand all the whole teasing issue, no one I have met has been teased about his or her name and neither have I - It just isn't an issue where I am from. I think that if you raise your child the right way then they wont tease the other children, and you should not refrain from naming your child a name that means somethign to you just because other people do not properly raise their children. As I said, this has never been an issue for me or anyone I have come in contact with...

Also, the only people who seem to have problems with the names of children are adults --- makes you think a bit doesn't it...?

Just for another way to look at this subject: Maybe the kids with normal names will get made fun of because everyone else will have "different" names. Just a thought since it seems like everyone does have some rather unique names, or in some cases just plain weird. So far we have Genevieve Amelia picked for a girl and Kingsley Julian for a boy. lol, Good Luck

You don't realize until the child starts school that you might have made a mistake. My daughter is Jerika, (Erika with a J). I thought is was so pretty and different. Now she is 12 has been tormented by boys especially her older brother. He calls her JERKYa and anything else he can think of. And when she goes some where new, they always pronounce it Jereeka. She HATES that. I still think it is a pretty name, but I wish that I had named her something a little more traditional. ...

I totally agree, personally, i think a lot of these names are made up, probably from people on drugs or are having flash backs from LSD. Either way, I often think that a lot of parents are selfish when it comes to naming their child, if the name isn't clearly audible the first time, you will probably go through the rest of your life having to spell it out for anything and everything, which could become very frustrating!

based off of your description, i might say which you look as in case you would be a: Preppy lady who likes the colour purple, shops at American Eagle and Aeorpostal with blond hair and blue eyes. you come back off somewhat ditzy or somebody who performs dumb plenty or maybe merely very giddy. You go searching 14-sixteen, an time-honored girly lady. i'm unsure what you will possibly pay attention to yet once you're a girly lady, you're plenty greater in all probability to hearken to pop.

i think that uncommon names are great..i dont want my kid having the same name as everyone else in his/her class....i have a lot of unique maybe never even heard of names picked out for my lil boy on the way....his sisters name is alexcia(not to different but not a plain jane name either) && bout time they get to the grades where kids make fun of kids names i think they will be okay bc then they will have the common names and tom bob sue debby will all be odd names to them..thats just how i feel..i mean im not going to go out and name my kid coco or anything like that but still why be so judgemental on the parents for loving the names they have for their children..dont you think they deserve not to have people like you to say what is a good name for their child..
