He's African-American.
He's wealthy.
He's a celebrity.
He'll never see the inside of a prison cell.
Edit: Hit the 'thumbs down'... but you know I'm so right!

I think time is not a factor right now. No matter if he gets 2 or 10 years, he will always be remembered as the guy who cheated baseball by stealing our hearts and then lying about playing a game the way it should have been. Even if he goes to jail, it will be one of those Pete Rose or Paris Hilton prisons where you have a DVR, leather lazy boy, and a maid to wait on you hand and foot. To tell you the truth, the time will never matter, his reputation will always be scarred and that means more than any jail time ever spent!

If Bonds is found guilty on on charges I believe he will not serve more than a year. With that being said, the case against him may not be that strong and he could walk free.

1-2. maybe.
Again...steroids really are a victimless crime. You'd rather have your kids look up to Ruth or Mantle...guys who came to work drunk high or hungover half the time and WASTED their talent and potential??? Yeah i said...even with shorter seasons, Ruth couldve hit 755 easily...then no one wouldve cared about Hank Aaron. Mantle?? Couldve been the first person to hit 800.
steroids=wrong. but put it in perspective. Don't try and build a case against Bonds by using the past as an example of what "should" be done.

A word of advice.
The federal government VERY RARELY loses.
You combine that with the fact it's EVEN RARER for them to lose to a celebrity.
Once they release all the evidence, expect Bonds to plea-bargain and not go to trial, just like Michael Vick.
If he goes to trial, they are going to hang him.
If he bargains, the charges will land him 1-3 years, I'd expect a 24 month sentence with the possibility of parole in 18 for good behavior.
If he doesn't, he's going to be screwed with a 5-7.
/If I was Bonds, they could kiss my *** and come get me off a remote island, off a country that doesn't expedite. THEY ARE WASTING MILLIONS OF DOLLARS OF OUR TAX MONEY TO PROSECUTE AN IDIOT BASEBALL PLAYER FOR DOING STEROIDS AND LYING ABOUT IT. TAKING STEROIDS IS A VICTIMLESS CRIME, THE IDIOT WAS ONLY HURTING HIMSELF. If baseball wants to stop steroids, it has the power. Wasting OUR tax money on something this irrelevant is NOT ACCEPTABLE.

he lied to a federal grand jury, totally different to a state or local grand jury. If this indictment is a federal indictment then he will serve up to 30 years. If this was a state or local indictment then it would have been less.
