I find it highly entertaining that some people are still parroting that old saw about America being "the richest country" and all that CRAP.

People are hurting. Just real, regular people.

Does anybody in government care?

And for all the bushbots:

OF COURSE IT'S BUSH'S FAULT.
Ever hear of the Iraq War????

That's about a trillion dollars that SHOULD SPENT ON AMERICANS. Job training, new job creation in alternative energy, student loans so that people can get better educations and better jobs, and yes, SOCIAL PROGRAMS!

God almighty!

One reason is because there is huge demand for help with food. The cost of living has increased substantially for a lot of folks (working poor, elderly, homeless) and a lot more people are negatively impacted. There is the rise in foreclosures and there aren't enough jobs. I don't believe the unemployment rate. I think a lot of people have given up because they have been looking for so long. A lot of people have taken huge paycuts to just get a job, any job. I cannot afford to give money or food to the food pantry. I am struggling and my husband and I combined make a good income but it's not enough to be overly generous.
The rich tend to be the stingest for a lot of reasons, one being that they feel entitled to all that they have. They are also terrible about paying bills and know how to cheat the system. (cash businesses, questionable morals/ethics, business deductions that are outrageous but somehow acceptable, etc.) In MA, a rich state, we are not charitable enough. Cost of living is very high here but the rich don't do enough to help out. They don't care. I've seen it. The middle class and the poor are better tippers and much more generous. But we have been seriously limited to what we can give because of the rising costs. Our incomes are not keeping up. We have lost a lot of our discretionery income. That's the key point. Discretionary income is very small. The rich have a lot more discretionary income and can help out more. They don't. They don't feel that they need to. Liberals and democrats are kinder people. I don't count rich celebrities as liberal or democratic. Not at all. They are the problem. (John Travolta, Al Gore, Barbara "Cheap B***" Streisand)

There are two types of herpes simplex virus: HSV-1 and HSV-2. Both virus types can cause sores around the mouth (herpes labialis) and on the genitals (genital herpes). Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV).
Cold sores sometimes called fever blisters, are groups of small blisters on the lip and around the mouth. The skin around the blisters is often red, swollen, and sore. The blisters may break open, leak a clear fluid, and then scab over after a few days. They usually heal in several days to 2 weeks.
The herpes simplex virus usually enters the body through a break in the skin around or inside the mouth. It is usually spread when a person touches a cold sore or touches infected fluid—such as from sharing eating utensils or razors, kissing an infected person, or touching that person's saliva. A parent who has a cold sore often spreads the infection to his or her child in this way. Cold sores can also be spread to other areas of the body.

If you believe this I have some great waterfront property for sale in Arizona.

These people would have you believe that Bush is responsible for all of the following: Hurricane Katrina (because the government controls the weather), 9/11, USS Cole Attack, US Embassy Attacks, Enron, Exxon Valdez, Barry Bonds, OJ Simpson, Hitler, Stalin, Kim Jung Il, Aids in Africa, AIDS in America, Cancer, Bird Flu, SARS, the Common Cold, The American Civil War, Communism, Fascism, Tsunami in the Indian Ocean, Mt. St. Helens, Fires in California, Flooding in Texas, Herpes, Syphyilis, Chlamydia, Gonorhea, Teenage Pregnancy, Child Abuse, Child Neglect, Spousal Abuse, Infidelity, Insider Trading, The Great Depression, The Assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand leading to World War I, and the Kidanpping of the Lindbergh Baby.

Oops, I just spilled my coffee, Bush is responsible for that too.

When are these people going to wake up and realize that when they blame Bush for everything under the sun it completely invalidates any credibility they've ever had and dilutes any real point they may have to make.

Cold sores are caused by the herpes virus. Many of us already have the cold sore virus dormant in our bodies, and never have a flare up of cold sores. We contracted it as children, as it is a very common virus, and children pick it up easily as they often share food and drinks, and may be less concerned about hand washing and hygiene. Cold sores can be transmitted even when the person does not have a cold sore, though it is less likely to happen then.

remember that you can remove genital warts by surgery, freezing, laser, acid or cream but genital warts can reappear again and again because genital warts appears when your immune system is weak!

I got diagnosed with herpes type 2 about seven years ago, when I was still in college and had a stupid one-night stand. However, Not only was I able to remove all traces of the herpes virus from my system in less than three weeks, but I was also able to start dating again!

Funny, two months ago, ABC News 20/20 ran a story on who gives the most. Here's what they "discovered:" when it comes to percentage of paycheck given, the working poor (read: republicans) give more than any other group. After the working poor, it is the "Religious Right" by way of their tithings, followed then by the extremely wealthy (they actually give the largest dollar amounts -- but then compared to their wealth...) and finally, the last two groups (who give the least both in dollar amounts as well as percentage of paychecks) are the non-working poor and the middle class democrats. Why? Because they feel it should not be up to the individual but rather the government to take care of the poor and needy. The republicans on the other hand, believe it to be the responsibility of the individual to lend a hand. Overall, it's the mindset of the two main groups that divides the people and of those two, the dem.s take very little personal responsibility for the welfare of their brother. On the world scale, the U.S. government appears a little stingy. But here again, the people give far more than the government, the people of the U.S. are the # 1 contributor in the world. And here again, it's those moralistic people you all love to hate so much -- the Religious Right, who are picking up the slack with their tithings.

Have been to the store lately, my God nothing is cheap. People who give to the food pantry's are usually not rich they give from the heart ,but right now buying food and gas to keep themselves afloat is becoming a burden. Yes, I see where you are coming from my friend.

No, it is not his fault except his threat to veto the OPEC bill that would have let America investigate and fine OPEC and big oil for price manipulation. Didn't need to worry,, the Republicans shot it down before it could reach him.

Well, considering the House of Representatives controls everything having to do with budget and monetary spending of our country, I would say it is more their fault.

The House controls the purse-strings. All money-related bills need to originate in the House (as opposed to the Senate), and the only power the President has over this stuff is the veto.

You know before 1980 and That great Republican Ronald ReaGUN took power, eliminated all of Franklin Roosevelt's social programs, and began his Federal Cuts he called ReaGUNomics, there were NO FOOD PANTRIES and not one SINGLE HOMELESS PERSON on the streets? None were needed. We all paid into the government in fair taxes and took out when we hit hard times.........Then the GREED factor took over from the Rebus, and the American people actually voted for it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know it is hard to believe to those who sere not around then, but it is true.. Now after 27 year of REPUBLICAN GREED it is getting worse every day. We should all be ashamed of allowing our federal government to be so vicious cruel, and mean to the unfortunate in this county.
