Yes totally - but only try when you are reasonably prepared.

there is no point taking an exam if you have not studied. there is not point trying to learn how to drive without first reading the highway code.

prepare yourself as appropriately as possible - that does not mean taking away all risks - but certainly minimise them.

Treat the opportunity as success or feedback of something to do DIFFERENTLY next time.

Edison when asked about how he coped with over 9000 failed attempts at making the electric light bulb said " failed... I have not failed... I have found 1000s of ways of NOT making an electric light bulb."
equally the guy behind KFC spent years trying to sell his chicken recipe before coming across the 'right' person.

if you want it.... do it...

It is better to try and fail than never to try at all. Trial and error, failure and our ability to learn from the experiences they bring are very powerful influences in our ability to cope with life.
The Health and Safety Taliban try to legislate out the most rudimentary risks, thereby denying children the chance to experience life as it is and outside the cotton wool coccoon the H&S people wish to create.

Yes,because at least that way you have given it a go and you stand a chance and can't say you didn't try,if you don't then you will never find out the outcome. Also we all make mistakes and can learn from them.

thats the difference between losers and winners.

For every big mistake you make be grateful!
That mistake you'll never make again!
Every shiny dream that fades and dies,
Generates the steam for two more tries!
So every time you stumble never grumble.
Next time you'll bumble even less!
For up from the ashes, up from the ashes, grow the roses of success!

Depends. If you are a completely useless waste of time like myself, it may be advisable to give up before you wreck everything some more.

There's an old saying " if at first you don't succeed give up it's not worth the bother". Pass it on and try to live by the saying...
