Well, I don't know about a literal guillotine, but they had better start putting the interests of the people ahead of their bottom line or it could get mighty ugly around these parts......
Corporatism is greed personified. It is like a money machine, without heart or soul. I have no argument with making money, but when making money becomes the sole reason for existence without consideration for what it does to the masses of people they affect, there needs to be serious regulatory oversight. Teddy Roosevelt understood this, as did (to a certain extent) FDR and Eisenhower. The people of our country need to put the brakes on corporations, and quick, and corral these megaliths before they completely take over. (They are pretty darn close to being completely in control now) Unfortunately, there are so many people who have been hoodwinked by them, I dont know it it is too late to stem the hemorrhaging or not. We can only hope people start voting in their own best interests again.

as a Democratic Socialist, your line of questions this morning is most refreshing... and some of the answers were , well... fantastic. I am regularly floored in this chat group by the lack of free thinking, I find myself being sucked into the Left Right thing out of sheer aggravation...
Capitalism in it's raw sense of the "Individual" as an entrepreneur is not wrong, and the growing of ones business is also a righteous and just venture... however we have gone well beyond that type of Market, we now have as Mussolini called it.. corporatism which is the melding of Fascist Police state rule and big business Darwinism, ... penned in with theocratic and falsely moral rhetoric.
Socialism is not the enemy of Democracy, but it is the enemy of corporatism....
PS....Hillary is not a Socialist !!!!!!

Yes. If Hillary is elected.
The only thing she has been consistent about is HER compulsion for attacking US corporations.
What everyone fails to realize is that her conduct won't have impact over an incremental period of time. Because of the Internet now, investment moves at the speed of light.
This economy will take it on the chin as soon as it becomes clear Hillary will win and investment will shoot overseas, over night. An electronic guillotine.

No.
It will lead to the chaos and eventual downfall of America.
But not the guillotine.
The uber rich will simply flee with their cache of cash.

There is so much wrong with that question, I don't know which part to tear apart first...
No, it won't. If there is a system other than capitalism that allows the same amount of freedom to the people, I would love to hear it.

And what?
Do you think we should all go to our jobs and toil away out of the kindness of our hearts?
Turning over our entire paychecks to the government because they know better how to spend it?
