i still dont understand why when i go downtown all these people sleeping in the streets ...it breaks my heart ..and im sick and tired of people who think it was their choice when in reality many of them just went crazy or lost their homes(mainly in the united states where houses prices are higher than ever)
why the hell there is a truck who pick up homeless dogs and put them somewhere where they can get food , water , shelter but not with humans?
i mean its a dog more worthy than a human>?
please somebody explain me what programs are there for them?
and why is the goverment not so very concerned about its citizens?

There have been major cutbacks in funding for the homeless, education, health, and even the animals. I think we need to ask our local representatives. It is a shame. There are some who are so ill, that they choose what they know best, and that is the street/ I say lets help our own.1/3 of those homeless is a veteran. The shame. The housing and low housing benefits usually take a while to come through unless you are part of a program such as the homeless coalition. It is actually harder than we think to get housing for the homeless. War has eaten most of these funds.

Hi,

I don't know what city you're from, but you see the same
thing in New York City, esp. on the Subways, Central Park,
and the Downtown Area. Apparently it seems that our
Government is more Concerned with Warfare, and the
Senseless Space Programs, which spends Billions of Tax
Payers Dollars. They are more concerned with Foreign
People than our own Citizens. But there's more to this than
meets the eye, but the the average citizen is very much
sleep about what really goes on Behind the Scenes, and it's
not my job to reveal that here. Just remember who you Vote
into Office when the elections take place, even though that
does'nt matter either, if it did, you would'nt be asking this
Important Question.

There's city welfare, state welfare and section 8 housing. For food they can get emergency food vouchers, food stamps, WIC and that's not to mention the many charity organizations like the Salvation Army. There are food banks and soup kitchens. Many of these people you see on the street are mentally ill or drug addicted and can't or won't help themselves. Some just don't know help is available or where to get it..

I should add before anyone else gives me a thumbs down that I once lived in a shelter. I had no where else to goThe people in the shelter helped me get on assistance so I could save for my first 1 room apartment. There was food to eat and donated clothes to wear.I never froze and I never starved. I work now , am married and own our own home and make it a point to donate when i can. I am grateful for the help I got when I needed it. And yes, you can rent a room with a government check while you wait for your section 8 application to go through.

Some people that are living on the streets prefer to live there. Others got messed up in drugs, and havn't found their way back to society yet. Others where forced their because they got lost in paper some where, and help wasn't there when they needed it, and don't know how to dig out. I get so mad because some people throw out more food, in one day than some of these people get to eat in one week.
