I believe that you are right. I believe that the big money interests have bought all the major candidates, so they don't care which we vote for, whoever it is, they win. We just think that we have a say.
In New Jersey last week, there was a bond issue voted on, and it was defeated. It didn't matter, they are paying for it anyway, this time through the state legislature.
It seems that these big multi-national (read, not American) are getting much more bold and arroigant in their disregard for the will of the people, now they don't even pretend to listen to us.
If we don't assert our rights soon, we won't have any.
A party which didn't owe it's allegience to big money-multi national interests would be a start.

Yes sir it is. Many ask the question about will Americans vote someone in for the people. To me the senators that have family on the payroll (not that there anything wrong with it as George and Jerry say) should be held accountable. For someone to pay their wife or son $200,000 a year is a joke. You would not be surprise which candidates do.
Then you have the ones whose faimly and extended family work for lobbyist and get paid pretty well. That's a direct conflict of interest. The others should immediately pass a law that states anyone with family employed by a lobbyist cannot vote on any bill even remotely having to do with the family members employer.
The book "Outrage" and i know I harp about it and "How Satan turned America against God" both are documetned proof of all this stuff. But Morris has an entire chapter devoted to this subject. This will probably SHOCK you but a jr. senator is bringing about the same as the major ones that get the money from the groups. It was only about $450,000, but I think it's incredible that someone just starting out would recieve that much and in such a short amount of time. Why it's as if they knew they could "buy" em.
Yes they are for the people, while thousands fall victum to crimes, drugs destroy the country and the rest, they have no shame and plug along.
i assume they don't want ot waste money on securing a border because with the "3 mil jumping visas* every year, like some of the 911 guys, what's the use and then with the NAFTA and NA trade agreement and superhighway why do it. There was an older post that mentioned the head honchos from America, Canada and Mexico met behind closed doors and did not inform the senate or house, if this is true then it's pretty much over, unless the people do start a second party.
By voting one out it may make the other wise up.
That's going to be hard, but better late than never. Funny how Bush admin is throwing money around like there is no tommorrow. A war, lower taxes and a checkbook without a ledger. Take care. It's sad, but without backing of the major players that are both corporate greed types it's going to be a heck of a battle and I enjoy those. Out numbered, not much of a chance sorta like 1775.

I think the republicans are where the democrats used to be twenty years ago...and the democrats today have slipped completely off the radar and are beholding to a far left socialist agenda. It's about time to hit Ctrl Alt Del on the whole system and restore common sense and respect to the high offices that have suffered this demise.
I believe, however, that the best way is to lead an ideological movement within an existing party and take it back to its fundamental principles. I don't think the republican party is dead...it's just been populated lately with liberals.
But, then again, that's the way of things. The law of entropy at work on a political scale. It will take a lot of work to put it back together...but it takes absolutely no work to sit back and watch it all decay and fall apart as it has.

The problem with any major party is that it will eventually become just as corrupt and biased as the dems and reps are. It's a good idea, but once you put big money in the picture, corruption will certainly follow.
Just vote for the person, not the party. Vote for the best candidate regardless of anything.
