Ok I am in highschool and interested in pursueing a career in the culinary arts. Ive always wanted to go to college so I am wondering if the were some culinary schools that are colleges and you get a degree or if you have to go to a college that offers a culinary program or go to college first and then culinary school?

If you go to a culinary school which awards an associates or bachelors degree, then it is the equivalent of those degrees being given for another subject matter elsewhere (except that, while most employers can see hiring an English major to do a variety of jobs requiring communication skills, the goal of a culinary student is pretty obvious, and you are not likely to get a job in a non-culinary field with it). If they tell you that at the end of a program you would get a "diploma" or a "certificate", then it is not the equivalent.

You would go to culinary school instead of going to college/university. But the diploma or certificate you will get is not the equivalent of an undergraduate degree.

you may attend cooking college and get a certificates, or you may attend between the Culinary Arts faculties and get a level. With a level you may get a job as a chef, or as a supervisor in a important hotel chain, catering corporation, or different expert nutrients administration or nutrients provider operation. do you like a means or a means and occupation? the two maximum nicely-cherished Culinary Arts faculties are the Culinary Institute of us of a and Johnson & Wales college. the two one among them are easily searchable on line. They graduate extremely some expert cooks. one among the different solutions comments on how the CB colleges don't have very severe standards. i do no longer know approximately that, yet i know that CIA and JWU are worldwide nicely-cherished and function hundreds of alumni in precise positions interior the nutrients provider industry worldwide huge. and that they have good job placement... I observed an advert from JWU that asserts that ninety 8% of their graduates are placed in jobs interior of 60 days of commencement... and that i'm confident CIA is comparable. you're paying for a complete equipment, no longer in basic terms somebody who shows you the thank you to make sauces!
