Now i swear im not making this up but about a year ago i ate something that just gave me the absolute worst gas I had ever encountered. The skunk couldnt bare to smell his own stink so to speak (it was that bad). The odd thing is that when it cleared up i began to notice that over about the next week, gradually my ability to smell went away HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?!?!?!
It would be great if i could smell my GF's perfume and i pretend i do, otherwise that would be a very awkward conversation. It just sucks.

The typical term anosmia i believe.
There are a few possible reasons for this to occur. Usually the loss of smell is when there is swelling that compromises the function of the nerve. Rarely is this a nerve disease, but that is also possible. The chief causes for the swelling are:
- an allergic reaction called allergic rhinitis;
- nonallergic swelling of the blood vessels called vasomotor rhinitis; and
- chronic sinus infection and/or inflammation
All of these can produce exactly what you are describing. This is obviously a significant problem for you. It will require some further evaluation to determine the nature of the problem. I would suggest working with your doctor to coordinate the effort. A test to start the process would be a CT scan of the sinuses to see if they are involved or not. From those results, you can make decisions if further tests are required, therapy indicated or consultations needed.

How is your sense of taste? Sometimes smell and taste go hand in hand. I'd check with your Dr. its sounds like an infection of some sort or possibly neurological.

Good luck with that!

It's called Anosmia. You should see a doctor, I doubt that it's connected to the "bad gas episode" but it's worth checking into. Hope this helps.

it is not a racist fact, extra ignorant than something. Who says you'll be a definite race to be an emo? they are probable emos of different races yet because of the fact that they at the instant are not white human beings in basic terms assume they at the instant are not.
