Well I dont know about other bands but I have a Samsung Syncmaster 150MP LCD monitor with a TV tuner in it. I have had it since 2001 and needless to say it is always on and still have yet to discover any dead pixels.... If anything should happen to this one, I would not think twice about another Samsung product

Hi. The first thing to go is usually the backlight. If its in a laptop then the hinge cable can come loose or fail. The actual liquid crystals should last a lifetime, or at least many years.

Never is short unless you put it down or do a paal abishekam(pour milk/fluids over the monitor).......I've been using one for the last 3 years without a problem.

Shorter than a CRT, that's for sure.
Just treat it right like...and DON'T LET IT FREEZE! Otherwise you'll have purple permanent blotches all over!
