Well I dont know about other bands but I have a Samsung Syncmaster 150MP LCD monitor with a TV tuner in it. I have had it since 2001 and needless to say it is always on and still have yet to discover any dead pixels.... If anything should happen to this one, I would not think twice about another Samsung product

Never is short unless you put it down or do a paal abishekam(pour milk/fluids over the monitor).......I've been using one for the last 3 years without a problem.
