I normally make mine. I have a list whom I send to and don't just send to receive.

I like to buy the variety ones and pick out a special card for each person and I write a note in each one. I have people I sent cards to each year whether they send me one or not. I have a card making kit this year, so I may make some too.

I draw or paint something onto 4X6 index cards for the $.26 postage instead of the $.41, and until last year did send to whoever sent the year before. Last year I went through my address book instead, sent to those I most often think about, then added whoever sent to me who wasn't on my list. All of which is silly, but as good a time as any to reach out again to the people you love. A pretty result last year was had with acrylics in greens and a red, using a sea sponge, just dabbing the greens into a fat circle then dabbing here and there with the red, for berries.

I get my Christmas Cards from Big W and I usually get two packs of 20. I always give a candy cane with them. I usually spend about $10. Hallmark is a brand of cards (I always get their cards at Christmas). Hope I helped, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

I've started making my own cards using digital photos "photo shopped" into Christmas images I get off the Internet. They have become very popular, are fun to do and gives a more personal touch. My Mom like them so much, she asked me to make hers as well. I do sign them and include a Christmas letter...at least to those whom I haven't spoken to much in the year. I don't decide who to send the cards to based on those who respond...regularly. But if I haven't heard ANYTHING from them after a few years, I do drop them off the list.

I stopped all that "Christmas list" thingie a long time ago.
Due to a death in the family, I was not able to send out cards one year. The following year, I got very few of them. Well, the light bulb went on over my head.
I always sent out Christmas cards to people I knew but rarely saw or people I hadn't seen in years....never just because of a list.
The year I didn't get many, I thought......HMMMM, they are sending me a card only because I send them one.....what a waste of time and money. I'll relieve their burden and mine... So I stopped.
I send maybe 20 - to friends and relatives that live across the country and to my kids and grandkids..... That's it.

I do make my own Christmas cards. I use a photograph and paste it onto a torn piece of colored construction paper. I place that at an angle on another piece of construction paper. I write each message in very careful hand printing, making them personal. I have a list that I keep each year and update as necessary. My friends and family really love them. One year I had no time to do it and I heard about it from several people. That's one way to get their attention!

You can buy, or make Christmas cards.
But, if you make a Christmas card then it is more personal in my opinion.
Just send them to the ones that you care about, sometimes you give things and don't receive, but that's okay, Christmas time is a time for giving! :)
Well, sometimes the cards that you buy, already have quotes, or verses, or say "Merry Christmas" already, so in that case you can just sign it.
But if you are making a card, then I would write a personal note.

I make my own on the computer. I only send cards to people I don't see over the holidays. It is rather silly to send cards to the once you see if you are wishing them a happy holiday in person. I like to write something special in them and also include a little newsletter to catch up on news.

I'm one of those annoying people who writes a one page newsletter. I usually put those inside cards that I buy. (Don't have time to make them) and write at least a sentence to each family. (Sometimes they end up being Easter cards by the time I get them done!) I send about thirty each year.
