I don't think so that they are consider White, Why you white people trying to say Middle Eastern, Ethiopians and Asian people are the white race. Well Ethiopians are not white but Middle Eastern, Asian and other race groups that have white skin it don't make them white.
White means someone from Europe! Middle East is not White! What you trying to say that most of the people on this Earth are White.

yet many label middle-eastern as terrorists...not actual asians (not the eastern-eastern ones..)

White doesn't mean someone from Europe. White means the same as black........... BS race labels that are based upon physical differences. It's BS simply because there are more differences WITHIN "races" than there are between them.
About middle easterners being white or black......... Funny how people always argue about this. Both blacks and whites are always claiming middle easterners are one or the other based upon whatever is convenient (whatever suits their claims). Ridiculous. They are what they are..... They are people from the middle eastern region of the world whom possess many varying physical features.

funny I have been hearing that as well...years ago they were not classified as whites now they are???
I even saw a discussion where they were saying indian people (from India ) are caucasion as well
but I find the people saying this are americans I don't hear europeans saying that
People think just because your skin is white it makes you white but that 's wrong...they believe that they can tell a person who is non white by the colour of their skin ...sadly is ignorance from a failing education system
just because you have blonde hair and blue eyes does not mean your white !!! its ignorance for people to think that because of this you do not have someone in your family who is dark -olive to black !
anyways no matter what when we all die we all end up looking the same !!

I think color-categorization is always pointless anyway. Where do you draw the line? How dark does a person have to be before they're not considered "white?" People well say it depends on their heritage - well, then shouldn't we be focusing more on cultural heritage than color? Color is highly variable, and it's pointless to try to figure out who's "white," "black," whatever.
But to answer your question, I think they consider mediterranean people to be "white," because out of the three major racial categorizations (Caucasoids, Negroids, Mongoloids), I guess they fit best into Caucasoids. But this kind of categorization is really outdated and I reeeaaaallly disagree with them.

guessing you met a 'white' individual who was making a racist point? still - shame you decided to do EXACTLY the same thing by saying us 'whites' are saying things as a group!
if you want a more considered answer, the problem lies in nominalising(a concept in linguistics, a tendency to think that calling something a name MAKES it that name)...as Baktin said '...be careful what words you use, you don't know whose mouth they've been in..' !!! and, from nlp - the map is NOT the territory. maybe you can think about how language and truth have a more difficult relationship than u seem to imagine.

From what I understand, Middle Easterners can be either white or black depending on location. They were always grouped in with white, but now often have their own listing on forms. White men call Asians white because they want to date Asian women, but have a thing against dating outside their race - so they call them white as a justification for dating them. Ask them if they think Asian MEN are white when they're dating white women, though!

Do you know what - I really don't care what colour people are, what colour they wish to describe themselves or any other aspect of coolour. IT DOESN'T MATTER. We are all people and the fact we come in different colours is immaterial. Ethiopians are not white, nor are they middle eastern, they are from Africa (you need to brush up on your geography). So are you now trying to say that colour does not have anything to do with the colour of your skin? That's really crazy. White is a colour that can refer to anyone from anywhere that has white skin. I am so sick of hearing about skin colour - I really think it matters much more to people who are not white than to white people.
