Both answers here will work...Just remember..once you clean the ends..your choice of methods..go to home depot,lowes etc. and buy a small can of anti oxidant cream made for electrical wiring..slightly coat the ends..and this will prevent it happening in the future

Go to "Auto Zone" or another large dealer, there's a special liquid for this that works great. I use it on my boat.
