You may mean back EMF (electro motive force) .When an electric motor is turned off but continues to rotate under its own momentum, the motor is then producing energy like a dynamo until it stops. If a dynamo is running free with no electrical load attached, it is easy to turn, but as soon as a load is attached, more power is required to turn it. This power requirement is called EMF. Your cars alternator is not providing electricity for free as many people think. The more lights etc you have on, the more power is taken from the engine. These effects can be measured with an ammeter.

Some electric trains, and some electric cars when braking produce energy which is put back into the oroginal supply, I think it is regenerative energy.

Where do people come up with stuff like this? Reverse energy! Perhaps you refer to reverse polarity?

If you wire an electric motor wrong (like on a fan) it will run backwards. Is this what you mean?

Are you speaking of counter electrical motive force? (CEMF)

Look it up.

good luck
