He appears to be being a little unfair. Is there a particular reason he wants to go again this year? Is someone not well? Does he not see them very often? Does he not get on with your parents? If there is no good reason, then he should act fair and spend Christmas at your parents for your sake. Love is a compromise after all!
I know what you mean though - I spent 13 years battling to stay at home rather than travel hundreds of miles every year just to see my husbands family - we've split up now though....!!

Why not invite both sets of parent round? I have exactly the same issue this year and i think we will compromise and do both. I think our day will consist of:
Wake up at home with the kids
All visit my parents till mid afternoon (3pm ish)
All visit her parents till 9pm (ish)
Then chill out at home with the kids back home.
Ticks all the required boxes and gives us some time to cuddle up alone once the kids are in bed....never mind the fact that it means we'll get TWO Christmas Dinners....BRILLIANT!

Have both set of parents over. If not have your parents over on Christmas day and his parents boxing day and then next year do it the other way round.

Why not do both? Both of our families live over 250 miles away from us (in opposite directions) We normally have my family Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, then we go to his family on Boxing day for the week! Best of both worlds and everybody is happy!

Book a holiday abroad - get totally away from it all. Stops the family rows and the complete anti-climax you get with the whole Christmas thing.
People get arsy when you say 'We are gonna do our own thing this year, but never say anything when you say 'we've booked a holiday'!
