You never know what the Democrats will do. Be careful, though, they do not like it when you bring up their racist past.

What nonsense are you posting now? New York State voted for Abraham Lincoln in 1860 and contributed many regiments to the Union Army in the Civil War. Explain yourself.

EDIT: While it’s correct that mostly Irish Democrats perpetrated the New York City draft riots, remember that the Democrats were conservatives in the 1850s and 1860s while the Republicans were the liberals. The rioters attacked African Americans, with whom they had had long-standing conflicts over jobs. They also attacked the homes of prominent abolitionists.

The actions of those mobs hardly represented the viewpoints of the majority of New York State residents who were staunch supporters of Lincoln and the war effort.

Is it doubted, then, that the plan I propose, if adopted, would shorten the war, and thus lessen its expenditure of money and of blood? Is it doubted that it would restore the national authority and national prosperity, and perpetuate both indefinitely? Is it doubted that we here---Congress and Executive---can secure its adoption? Will not the good people respond to a united, and earnest appeal from us? Can we, can they, by any other means, so certainly, or so speedily, assure these vital objects? We can succeed only by concert. It is not ``can any of us imagine better?'' but ``can we all do better?'' Object whatsoever is possible, still the question recurs ``can we do better?'' The dogmas of the quiet past, are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise with the occasion. As our case is new, so we must think anew, and act anew. We must disenthrall our selves, and then we shall save our country.

Fellow-citizens, we cannot escape history. We of this Congress and this administration, will be remembered in spite of ourselves. No personal significance, or insignificance, can spare one or another of us. The fiery trial through which we pass, will light us down, in honor or dishonor, to the latest generation. We say we are for the Union. The world will not forget that we say this. We know how to save the Union. The world knows we do know how to save it. We---even we here---hold the power, and bear the responsibility. In giving freedom to the slave, we assure freedom to the free---honorable alike in what we give, and what we preserve. We shall nobly save, or meanly lose, the last best, hope of earth. Other means may succeed; this could not fail. The way is plain, peaceful, generous, just---a way which, if followed, the world will forever applaud, and God must forever bless.

I completely know what you're saying. i replaced into thinking the comparable concern myself. needless to say u.s. is hand in hand with the Zionist Entity. there is no way in hell they could ever positioned them in any variety of section the place injury can come to them. Even I remember whilst back once you had each and every of the violence from the PLO and the Lebanese Civil conflict all started which finally delivered approximately the Syrian invasion. that's notably plenty been theory that the PLO are no longer Palestinians yet Zionist Arab Insurgents. It replaced into continually a grimy game. as quickly as till now they have been praising Bashar al-Assad and calling him a "reformer". Now he has replace right into a periah for his help of Hezbollah and Iran. so as that they could be using "reasonable", for now till he comes to a decision to bypass off on his very own. yet yeah, the Muslim Brotherhood and a a possibility return to a Caliphate seems to be the schedule, completely supported with the aid of u.s. and the Zionist Entity.

What war? You mean the LIE in Iraq?

There is no communication outside of…...’The War on Terror’, ‘Showdown With Iraq,’ ‘The Axis of Evil.’ So that whatever disquiet we feel, we no longer have the words in which to express it. The myth predominates. The myth, which is a lie, of course, built around glory, heroism, heroic self-sacrifice, the nobility of the nation.. . .People lose individual conscience for this huge communal enterprise.”

To the mounting horror of the world, the United States of America is relentlessly bringing about the systematic destruction of a small, unthreatening nation for no good reason. Why has this not gripped the conscience of this country?

Libs and Dems always fight against America! They can't help themselves, since it's in their DNA. We should all cry for the Republic everytime another anti-American Dem gets elected! (Like Chucky Schumer!)
