I thought Tupac was dead?
I want to watch HD Dvd's, of course these discs dont work on a standard dvd player in my laptop.
Ideally i want to connect my dvd player and use the laptop as a vidoe output tool!
The laptop has vga and usb connections, the hd dvd player has many connections!

Why not just use the laptop's DVD drive?

R u trying to hook up a hd player with your laptop. If yes, then no the format wont play right. If you are trying to use the dvd player for a substitute for a lack dvd drive, it would be more cost effective to buy an external dvd player.

The connection is possible by using a compatible TV tuner card. You can ask your local dealer for more solutions that are cheaper than the TV Card solution. However I'm failing to find the reason for such type of connection considering that your Laptop can play DVDs.
Please checkout this site below for a cheaper solution but I'm not sure on the quality:

Hope this Helps

I bought a RCA to USB cable from Best Buy a bit back, I thing it was $25.00. As long as your laptop has a USB input and you have some type of video player software installed you should be OK.

I pry wont be smart enough to install it on a laptop. Laptops are a lot more diffacult to install stuff like that. You would have to take out the existing one first. My suggestion would b to buy an external dvd drive. U would just have to plug it in using usb.

No you can't.Your laptop should come with preinstalled CD Rom,just pop in a DVD and enjoy your movies.Of course,if your laptop comes with a CD Rom than you can't play DVD, get an external DVD Rom or have your CD replace with a DVD Rom.

all you need to buy is a usb or pcmcia tv tuner & you can hook up your DVD. just make sure you either have a 2.0 pentium IV processor or any intel core 2 duo processor. otherwise, your video will really be choppy.
