what is observed when sodium chlorate (v) is added to acidified potassium iodide?

ive looked and cant find it anywhere! please help

Iodine is less electronegative than Cl, so it more easily adopts a positive oxidation state:

ClO3- + I- = Cl- + IO3-

There are lots of other things that could happen as well, depending on pH and relative amounts.
