I lost my show 8 days ago & was 4cm dilated, I have had 2 nights of very bad contractions after sex (this is my second so I know the difference between Braxton Hicks & real contractions), Baby is engaged but other than that, nothing seems to be happening so it's starting to get very disheartening that I'm feeling so uncomfortable but my due date isn't until 30 Nov (I'm 38 weeks & 3 days pregnant)! I don't think I could go another 11 days, especially as since I was 31 weeks my midwife has been saying he could arrive any day as I've been having strong Braxton Hicks since then & he is apparently going to be a big baby. My first son was born at 37w2d at 8lb 2oz. So basically what I want to know is what are the other signs labour is approaching e.g. diahhrea & when do you think I will go into labour based on all that I have told you? Please give me some hope lol

With my second I had extremely strong and painful braxton hicks from about 30weeks+ and then by 38weeks it was contractions especially at night. I didn't lose my plug however till 40+2 which is the night I went into labour for real. I was sure all those past painful contractions were definately the baby coming but it turned out to be 3 days over before I delivered.
I never got diarrhea, vomitting, headaches or any other symptoms of labour approaching, except the increasingly painful false contractions (not braxton hicks). Those symptoms are not usually a good guide anyway! The real contractions are enough to tell you its going to happen!

Hopefully though since you have lost your plug, have had a previous early birth and have been having some contractions already, that you will be in labour within a week. Thats my guess based on your info!

Fingers crossed for you! And I hope it all goes well with the birth.

Oh, I do remember having a sudden burst of energy and restlessness the day I started labour too. I even went and did the grocery shopping and delivered my husbands employees pays too! I do remember have a last minute 'nesting' thing happening in the babies room to make sure it was all perfect too!

It sounds like it should not be too much longer. Each baby is different. I know with my 1st child I delivered 2 days prior to my due date and the Dr's said I would be lucky if she was 5 lbs since I was not big at all. When she came she was 7 lbs 8 oz. With my 2nd I delivered 2 1/2 weeks prior to my due date at he was 7 lbs 13 oz.. So I was scared to go full term ever again... This time I am having twins and I lost my plug at 31 weeks and and am dilated to 5 cm. I am now 33 weeks 4 days and and I am still at 5 cm. I had contractions 3-4 min apart at 31 weeks that lasted for 6 days and I was in the hospital and the Dr's even thought I was going to deliver then... I am still waiting to deliver my 2 boys but guess they are not ready yet... I just hope yours goes quicker that what I have been going thru... Good luck

Aches, pains, and contractions are fully ordinary in overdue being pregnant. You most effective ought to fear if she's having steady contractions which are on the very least 10 mins aside, or she's leaking fluid vaginally. Only then must you name any person. There's no factor in getting each person wound up approximately an imminent arrival, using to the medical institution and determining that she's received gasoline or some thing! Try to stick calm, I realize it's tough being your first and all, however you'll be able to each realize while she's in labour.
