I feel bad because a guy I met and dont fancy has contacted me again to go out. I explained that I would be happy to remain friends and meet every now and then as we are both single but nothing more. When we met up he looked at me so adoringly and I think he is hoping for more. Should I just not see him for fear of hurting this very sweet guy or let him decide not to see me if it will hurt him. I dont want to be unfair.

If you think that this guy is worth keeping as a friend be his friend. Make sure that you tell him that its just a friendship not a b-friend g-friend thing and you should be good.

I would suggest to be upfront with him again and let him know how you feel and don't feel. Sometimes you have to explain things in detail. Like your reasoning and why not, because, type thing you know. Um, if he says he understands and wants to continue hanging out with you and you are unsure, take a friend along with you. That way its not all about the two of you. Its about the three of you know. He may eventually take just the two of you going out and turn it into something else.
Me and myboyfriend started out as friends. it got to the point that we were with each other every single day(almost) and look at us now. The same thing happened to both of my sisters and my brothers. So relationships do come out of just hanging out.

Make sure that there is no romance involved in where you go if you decide to see him again. Otherwise, it is best just to talk by phone only, and only on occasion.

dont see him, tell him you have an appointed at the same time... send him msg that he wont expect romance from you...
