I have a Canon i560, and it was working normally, when I tried to print something, and my computer said it was offline. I saw that it was still plugged in. Then I tried plugging it into some other outlets close by. Still no response.
The power didn't go out, and everything thing else still works? My friend said that maybe it burnt out. Is that true? It's not a really old printer - I just got it about two years ago.

Every newer canon printer has some LED lights to indicate that the power is on. You can find this light built in the (ON/OFF) switch.

If that is off, check the power cord, next phone canon troubleshooting so they can tell you over the phone how to troubleshoot.

This particular printer has a warranty from the manufacturer of onyy one year. If you had used it for two, then did not get extended warranty, it might be cheaper to replace the unit with a new printer.

Check whether the wire connecting the printer and computer is secured on both sides.

Check if the power plug i.e. printer power wire is secured to both the printer and wall socket.

Restart the system sometimes the printer drivers are not loaded properly then it will not work.

Hello,
printers usually go off-line for 1 of 3 reasons and will stay that way until the situation is fixed.
1. No Ink
2. No paper in the paper tray.
3. Paper is jammed some where in the paper path (from paper input tray to the output tray).
Good Luck!
