sometimes I think genetics can play a part in your babies weight, however not in my case!
I weighed about 7pd and so did my husband and our first child was 9pd and our second was 8.2pd's. BIG difference when you have to squeeze them out!
Yet my best friends mum had a 10pd boy first and then a 6pd girl (my friend) and then my friends first was also 10pd and she is pregnant with her second now and it is going to be way smaller than the first. she only has 6 weeks to go so they know it isn't going to be another huge baby.
I guess it just comes down to the individual baby and mother I suppose!

My mum said that my three older brothers were 10lbs and I was 8lbs. She was 5'8", a lot taller then me. I say this as I believe that your baby will only be the weight that your body can handle, much taller people have huge babies and much smaller people such as myself have small babies. I am 5'3" and my first baby was 6lb10oz but he was five weeks premi, my second was 7lb4oz and she was near full term. It also has a lot to do with what you do while you are pregnant, if you smoke and drink then you will have smaller babies, I did neither.

i was 10 lbs 14 oz...my husband was 9 lb 6 oz. my kids were 5 lb 8 oz, 5lb 4 oz, 6 lbs 4 oz, and 7lb 9 oz........although baby 2 and 3 were preemies and very big for their gestation, i was told that either of them could have easily been a 10 lb + baby if they wouldve went full term. why my first was so small at full term i have no idea though...she should been huge (or at least above average)she was also my shortest baby (only 18 1/4 inches)

people who're slightly over weight are counseled to not income as much as women folk who're not. you're superb, in case you wellbeing practitioner says that the baby is okay, then you definately would be ok! you will possibly be dropping the undesirable weight, while you're ingesting greater useful than you have been in the previous, and while you're ingesting greater water. i've got customary some mothers that have been slightly over weight in the previous, and after having infant and breastfeeding they have lost greater weight than they actually gained! reliable success hun!

I only weighed around 6 pounds as a newborn and my husband was his mom's smallest at under 7 pounds. We had a 9lb 3oz, a 9lb, and a 9lb 13oz baby.
They will be what they will be. :-)

i dont think so. babies weight has so much more to do with other factors, such as your general health, any illnessess in pregnancy, such as pre-eclampsia ( the baby will be smaller due to insufficient placenta), diabetes ( baby will be bigger) how many babies you have had as they generally do get bigger. i was 5lb at birth , my first baby was 6lb 4 0z, 2nd baby 6lb 5oz ,3rd baby 8lb 1oz and my 4th 8lb 70z .
