Do you feel like the media has used the Madeleine story to sell more newspaper, or was it an unavoidable way to increase chances of finding her?

Of course the media has exploited the story for sales! Whether the child was/is found alive or not is of no interest to the newspapers, and in fact they would have been much happier for a body to be found because they could do ENORMOUS coverage on the back of that, just like they did in the Soham case. Remember what they say: "If it bleeds, it leads"...

I do not think for one minute that the stories were designed to help find her. As you know from all of the questions and comments on this site the story has become almost an obsession. The media will play on this because obviously it will sell more newspapers. They will bleed it dry. They are having a field day. They can lie, speculate and put different slants on events to their hearts' content. I do not think I have read one story/report which has in any way increased the possibility of Maddie being found.
