I've overclocked my NEC Versa E6310 graphics adapter (GeForce 8600M GS) from 500/700 (GPU/RAM) MHz to 610/720. When I played heavy 3D games, such as Call of Duty 4 and Gears of War, everything went smoothly with no lag but suddenly it stops working and the next minute it resumes with lag. I've checked the clockspeed using nTune and I discover the clocks are changed to (210/100). 210/100 is the setting for 2D performance, not 3D. Why do my PC behave like this?

maximum good contemporary video games will run with that setup, yet to run nicely, with each and every of the flamboyant photos on, and at a much better determination you will probable would desire to have around 2 gigs of ram, and a extra contemporary video card. If i became to presently purchase a video card, i'd actual decide for no less than a 512 meg version. nonetheless I understand that they are making some killer video enjoying cards in unusual sizes like 384 meg now.

You're overclocking, you should run your hardware within spec and then you might find it actually works.

If you want help with something you shouldn't be running anything out of spec since it was not designed to operate in that manner (oh and nice warranty, NOT).
