For the past few weeks I have been getting sharp pains in my abdomen around where the ovaries are located. These have begun coming more frequently now. Yesterday at about six in the morning after getting in from work, I got one and then it went away for a few minutes and then it came back. I kept having them every few minutes or so. It had me in tears because it hurt so bad. My boyfriend gave me some advil to help me with the pain. He thinks that I should go to the doctor. What do you guys think could be causing this?

I would say endometriosis as I am a sufferer of this and you have all the same symptoms. Do you have irregular/heavy bleeding and pain during intercourse? If so then that's what could be wrong. It could also just be a harmless cyst or some other simple thing but go to your doctor just to be safe if it keeps happening. Good Luck.
