Have just got a lexmark z640, installed it on my laptop (running Vista basic) says printer is ready (in control panel) but when i try to print from oopen office write or from any pdf type file through adobe, it says no default printer found and when i choose the lexmark printer it wont let me choose the ok tab which is grey ( so cant select it) HELP!!! im not that clever on pcs all i want to do is print a letter!!

spooky - it is set as default printer in control panel - i keep thinking it may be something to do with vista, nothing seems to work on it!

x. cut and paste it to an email send it to yourself, and then print it off. x

"installed it on my laptop (running Vista basic)" I'll bet the CD doesn't have Vista compatible drivers on it. Read the label AND the Lexmark User Manual FIRST.

Then, go to the website and download the Vista drivers. If unavailable, call Lexmark and complain.

It is not open office or adobe that is at fault, it maybe that you have not set your lexmark printer as default for those programs. cntrol panel printers and scanners, and select your lexmark printer as default printer.
