Christmas is definately the most expensive of the two! They are both celebrated and made a big deal out of. I think that Thanksgiving is the least controversial because so many religions celebrate Christmas differently.

I love them both...Christmas is my favorite though because I'm a very giving person. I love to watch my kids' eyes light up when they open something they really wanted. I like to bake for my friends and family during Christmas. I also love all the lights that go with Christmas.

Hard to say! If you are a spiritual person, then CHRISTmas is extremely special, In spite of the fact that evidence shows ,Jesus was not born in December.
Thanksgiving is also a very special time here in the U.S. because it is a time when families get together have a huge meal, and spend time reuniting with relatives that they may not have seen for quite a while. It is a time to give thanks for all that we have in our lives.

I would also like to add though, that there are MANY people that find the holiday seasons very painful. People who have lost loved ones, or who have gone through a divorce, or homeless people, etc. etc..
I believe that there is a way that we ALL can help out in that situation. For example, I have a best friend who is currently in Prison, and Recently his Dad passed away. Now his 84 year old Mom is living alone, and has no one to celebrate the holiday with. I visit her regularly, and on Thanksgiving I will first Celebrate here at home with my family, and then in the afternoon I will go to my elderly friends home to celebrate with her. It may be a small thing, but small random acts of kindness tend to go a long way, and they seem to spread!! Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!!

Christmas is bigger than Thanksgiving. Christmas is very commerical.. they start putting out Christmas stuff in the stores as early as late October.. I've even some years have seen as early as the end of September..

Thanksgiving.. though is a more quite holiday.. a holiday where tradition, and family ties are more relevant than making it a commercial circus.

Christmas is bigger and is celebrated for 12 days , Thanksgiving is celebrated in a day, the next day, Black friday starts the Christmas Holiday shopping season. If you are asking which holiday brings in the most money...Christmas...if you are asking which holiday is more important to Christians...again Christmas...I ask you which is bigger Christmas Day or Boxing Day?

Sorry, my friend - Christmas is more pagan than christian. The only thing inserted into the pagan traditions and myths was the three wise men. Birth in a manager (or a cave), the exchange of gifts, the birth of a savior god - all pagan in origin and predating the supposed birth of Jesus. The tree, decorations, gifts, feasting, the Yule log, mistletoe - all pagan/heathen and having NOTHING to do with christianity. Thanksgiving is a secular holiday. The pilgrims, when they celebrated the harvest (as they had done in England) were grateful that the Indians had saved their.... hind ends and didn't let them starve. Something most of those Indians came to regret. Anyone can welcome a chance to be with family, have a paid day off from work, and give thanks to higher deities, Fates or chance for having family and being with them - atheists, pagans, heathens, Buddhists, Christians and all others.

I am a very spiritual person...That has nothing to do with Christ.... spirituality goes beyond religion....
I have to say Christmas is a much bigger deal.... It has to do with all the lights....the candles.... and sparkle.... the bells...mixed with family ...food....and anticipation of the unknown..... For many it has become very commercial......but for me it is still about making gifts....and decorating the house... making the little ones smile...teaching them that giving from the heart...is by far more important than receiving.....being with loved ones ....sharing the magical feeling of this special festival of lights......
