tell him that a flat paper map is not how the earth looks. Its more of a round blue green ball, and hand him a globe.

Then why do all photos from space show a round earth, anyway your both right because the circle has no distinct corners so is flat forever but creates a round shape.

Simply tell her if you stare at the horizon, you SHOULD be able to see the continent next to you if it was flat. But due to it being round you can only see a certain distance before field of vision is no more.

Well, can she get the school to fund a trip by ship. You can start from one end of US and just consistently sail to the east and you will reach the east coast of US after a few months

it has to be round because even if it was originally flat, gravity will have pulled everything into a sphere. besides if the world was flat i think we would have realised by now!!

Have her go on an around-the-world cruise. When the ship doesn't fall off the edge, she'll see for herself.

(What does she have in her classroom -- a flat globe???)

when you go nearer to the horizon ,the horizon also moves farther.....

this is also observed while you are in a ship....

even you travel around the world you cant reach the end for it has no end point .............for the earth is round...

well... you can't because the earth isn't perfectly round. it bulges slightly at the equator and it is flatter ar the poles due to magnetism.
