maybe thats just the way they think although how anyone can say you write rubbish is betond me

Because people a lot of times don't care for the question and just give an answer that does not make sense for fun. However, i have to say that a lot of answers get people angry on this thing, so sometimes giving an answer that puts out a little humor sometimes lightens up the mood.

Well, if you meant to say "they're" then the reason is because of the point/level system yahoo has. You have to spend points to ask a stupid question and you can't even rate any answers until you're level 2 so people put any stupid answer to any stupid question so they can get points. It's yahoo's grand scheme to promote participation according to themselves.

If it's not for the two points, I think it's because people tend to forget that they have to answer a question and not simply comment.
