It is so damn annoying. In the days of technology and Ipods there is no excuse. I do not want to endure your music on my journey home thanks. Why are people so ignorant and inconsiderate to others?

I live in London and was punched in the head and subjected to racial abuse, (kids were black). I asked really nicely and passively for them to turn it down, (two of them were playing some crap at the SAME time).

Thats life in the ghetto hey? I didnt deserve that and you cannot even begin to communicate with people who have that sort of agressiveness.
Its should be banned along with putting your feet on the seats. My brother was attacked for asking some bloke to take his feet off my brothers coat. (feet were on seat, but he edged them up closer to my brother kind of like blocking him in). Bloody pigs.

it's a sign of the times.... these kids that do it obviously have no regard for others. It's not just rap music though and I'm 21 and I get p!ssed off with it and you can't accuse me of being a grumpy old woman. Personally I just listen to my i-pod But seriously dude don't generalise about this it's the act of playing the music on public transport that gets me not the genre. But hey it's not the end of the world is it?!

Tell me about it,I mean if I wanted to or am listening to music I will always put headphones in primarily for peace myself and not having everybody knowing what song I am listening to but also out of kindness for others I appreciate not everybody wants to listening to that or even likes the song being played, and the thing is people tend to play this so loud!sometimes I think they enjoy the 'attention' and the fact the it's highly likely no one will ask them to turn it down-personally I wouldn't either though I don't want to generalise people but you just don't know how they could react if if you try to mention it politely. If I saw someone showing this ;attitude' for myself I would pick up an instinct not to sit there just for my sake of peace.

However some may do it just to keep themselves company I can understand this, but you could at least put headphones in.I don't want to generalise but that's just the way it seems, but I believe their are people that don't do that so I don't want to bring them down if only others could do this aswell.

And unfortunately, here in England, if you ask the rude person in question to turn it down, they'll just ignore you and turn it up, or threaten you with bodily harm. With no fear of reprisal, because if the person in question takes a swing at you and you defend yourself, guess who gets done for assault? Particularly if it's a teenager.

I don't mean to tar all teenagers with the same brush, because for every group of obnoxious kids playing their crap music loudly, there's a group sitting quietly. But I've only ever been threatened by teenagers.

Anyway, no wonder there's more cars on the road now than ever before. Who wants to deal with public transport??

Kids do it quite often. My kids do too on the buses, and yes I tell them not to over and over again. But it doesn't help when passengers approach my son and ask if he can bluetooth a song over to their phones.
My son has bluetoothed so many tunes over to passengers who have asked, which in turn encourages him to play his tunes. Kids make some brilliant ringtones at school. I have unusual ones on my phone courtesy of my kids.
But all this is on buses not trains. And my lot play it on the buses to and from school, along with all the other kids. If you switch your bluetooth on while on a bus full of school kids, you will fill up your b/tooth menu lol.

If my kids and are go on train journeys then I make them wear headphones.

There always used to be signs on trains and buses saying "No Radios or music to be played". What happened to that?

Like yelling out their mediocre minutiae of their lives over their mobiles, because they are oblivious to anyone around them, or if they are they couldn't give a stuff.
