No.

Above all others, along lfe's journey, one day you will meet "The one" and if you lose that chance your heart has gone forever, you can't give it anyone else because it belongs to another. Amen.

Some people can merrily skip from heart to heart, one relationship to another, notching up accomplishments "gaining experience" ...??? It's not a game, there is no trial period. When you commit to another don't you give your all? Do you purposely look to wreck another's life in order to analyse their reactions to "gain experience"? No, certainly not, you can't love someone 99%. So to have never loved, to have never lost will keep you from knowing the emptiness of heartache .. selfish I know but still no comfort in hindsight.

ask me that 9 months ago and i'd have said no.... I would rather not have it good for a while and have it torn away, knowing what i had lost, what I was missing etc

Now, I say yes. Yes, because having loved and having been loved changes you for the better. The pain of loss is horrible but passes, where the growth in your knowledge of others and yourself, your self confidence, your views on the world... those things stay with you, and you are better for it.

so yes, it is better to have loved and lost

:)

Better to have loved and lost. I've never loved. Not yet at least. And I feel "left out".

I think most of the time that its better to be single and loving it rather than to be with someone. I am 35 and never dated or been with someone. I see the big picture all the time of things and I am scared. Its better to never have loved at all.

That's analytical baloney, perfect gentleman talk, and we all know there's not many of them around.

If ya love someone (an' I mean reeallly) and lose them it can mess up your life for all time, forever, you may never trust anyone ever again.. you might not trust yourself, y' might think "what the heck did I NOT do..I'm no good at this". Having memories of lost love cant be a happy experience...YOU LOST for gods sake...

Will you ask yourself the same question when his eyes start wanderin'?

Mr. Tennyson is right, just as it was true in the Victorian age, it holds true today. People don’t change, only the technology around them does.
Sometimes we cannot see what’s most important to us until only after we have lost what was most dear to us. But we all have memories, and to have them of lost loves is better than to not have them at all.

Yes, at least you have felt loved and cared for.. but eventually you'll lose them. Having the experience of being loved is great rather than having none of the feeling/experience at all.
