Because we have spent enough time tring to fix other countries problems. We should spend some time fixing our own.

Who's this "we" you're talking about?
And this "everyone"?
I'm not against whaling.
And if you're talking about "barbaric", then you're mixing up Japan with perhaps your own country.
What's wrong with whaling? Are cows somehow less important than whales?
If you're American, then you're being hypocritical as the U.S. is the country which encouraged Japan to whale at the end of WW2. Japan wouldn't have as much of a taste for whale if that didn't happen.
Have you ever considered that whales deplete a lot of other seafood resources? Perhaps food that you enjoy eating? These big whales don't go swimming around without eating (and destroying) vast amounts of animals, you know.
Personally I find the typical Western way of raising, chickens, pigs, and cows a lot more barbaric. At least these whales get to live a natural life. Those magically "normal-for-eating" other animals often go through the most disgusting of living conditions before finally being slaughtered for fast food and grocery stores.
Not only that, but Japanese show a high respect for everything they eat. There's no American-style lack of gratitude for the food and all the byproducts that will come out of these whales.
Try thinking outside the box for once. Your cultural conditioning is really showing. Just because you and your friends don't agree with whaling, doesn't mean it's wrong.

I recall a line from a movie. "Different cultures, different customs. Let's not be prejudiced."
The only thing that anybody seems to understand anymore is MONEY.
If there was no money to be made from whaling they would stop it as an unprofitable business.
If you want, you can go to Japan and persuade everybody to stop buying whale meat, just like these types of campaigns in the US have stopped the huge factory farms that raise cattle, swine, sheep, and fowl in such inhumane conditions.
Oh, that's right, factory farming brings us cheaper food at the expense of animals so most people don't care.
Like I said, people are motivated by MONEY. They want cheap, not humane.

There are in basic terms very few whales left or perhaps though japan would in basic terms be searching a definite quantity so the whale inhabitants can nevertheless develop with time, human beings dont prefer to take any possibilities if any organic reasons would desire to kill off the whales if there became some form of ailment or a scarcity of nutrients for the whales. We farm cows because of the fact there ordinary to produce yet you dont see human beings eating pandas do you and im confident extremely some eastern and chinese language human beings would initiate complaining if we've been eating pandas yet no longer adequate to for them to flow extinct I dont see why human beings have one among those in effective condition while it includes somones lifestyle because of the fact in all seriousness it extremely doesnt remember. My lifestyle became the slaughtering of different non secular communities, combating with foreign places countrys for no reason different than to be surpriour and do ****. I dont htink all of us like it if i became doing that. I aint asserting they cant do it, yet supply it time so the whale inhabitants can with stand different reasons of dying. its extra possibly they're going to die from something else than over searching however the searching will develop that risk with a smaller inhabitants. and prefer another guy pronounced how they have been going to different worldwide places oceans to seek that's a sprint unfair, in basic terms because of the fact australia aint doing it doesnt mean japan can hunt the whales there.

We could start eating Japanese people. Adding a little wasabi and some rice makes a nice meal. But first we'll have to teach the western world to use chopsticks! Soilent Green was popular in that movie Soilent Green.

Not every people considered hunting whales as barbaric. In fact, killing a pig is more barbaric. You feed it and help it to grow. It thought you are its good friend but, at the end, it got betrayed. You killed it.
Anyway, it is good top peach vegetarianism to Japanese and help them to do hunting in pc games instead.
