Yes, but the sides of your feet might hurt depending on the seal and how well the tank holds pressure. If there is some sort of air vent, the sides of your feet would be supporting your weight and really hurt. If you have a good sealed tank, the pressure would go up and full support you by the bottoms of your feet.

But why do that. Just get some non newtonian fluid. You'll be able to walk on water. See: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2XQ97XHjVw . Really cool

No. U wud be desperately gripping the top of the tank for support for if ur feet were to even shift a bit and tilt u'd go inside the tank and get stuck. Also depends wat material ur tank is made up of...if it's metal u'd get deep cut at ur ankle or the part which gets stuck. If it's thick heavy duty plastic or watever plastic is used then u'd get bruised and start to curse more n more then do any standing lol.

Sure, imagine the water was very viscous, like sand (but not quick sand which would be too fluid), you wouldn't even need the shaped holes with sand, though with water the holes will have to be very exact. You might try soaking your feet in liquid nitrogen it reduce flexibility, it will make it easier to get a good seal, XD

Yes, grease your feet so you get a good seal.

Water will supply the pressure to hold your weight. This is exactly what a hydraulics system does (not with water, but never mind that)--it doesn't try to do it with feet-shaped holes though.

I put your question to captain Haddock, His reply was "??**&#!!1 %% @@@ ?? "

If the tank has no other hole or leak and the hole being cut exactly cut to shape of your feet, jolly well you can go and demonstrate yhat you can stand on water. See to it water does not spill from the sides. Water is not compressible. Good Luck, my advance claps.

No because your skin is flexible and some of the water will soak into your skin, causing your feet to be smaller then the holes by some amount, causing more water to escape... and so on...

In theory, totally.

The exact part would be *very* difficult, though. But because the water would have nowhere else to do, it would have to support you.

Neat idea.

You would sink until you straddled the space between the two holes.

Just put a piece of thick rubber underneath to shame all physics and stand as a monument as long as you like!

i would guess in the middle. if you poke it with a screwdriver aiming downward at 45 degrees (unless the tank is virtual and the walls have no thickness).
