The worst times I've hurt it my life it wasnt physical. Words can be much stronger, and silence even more so.

I Disagree,because all the wars that have been prevailed since a long time are due to wrong use of words at wrong time...you can have innumerable examples...
Also,if you feel,by your own experience though sticks and stones hurt you,but you can get a quick recovery within 4-5 weeks atmost..but the traces of the words that are spoken to you by someone lie till you die and make your heart a sorrowful being...

Words hurt worse than any bruise or cut a stick or stone can make, even if the sticks and stones kill you. The wounds from some words may never heal, and the death inside from some words can be a living torture from which it's victim can never escape.

I certainly disagree as words have hurt me many more times then physical harm has and I can tell you that I have been beat up many times by my first husband---given split lips, requiring stitches and many black eyes but the pain of words has done much more harm than the beatings did.
