I remember my mum sitting my brother and I down for "the chat" when we were probably still a little to young to really understand (prob about 8 or 9). She had a book with line drawings showing all the relevant information, all very good except we didn't understand a word of what she was talking about. I did notice though that she was very serious and very embarrassed LOL. She never ever talked about it again after that. Thankfully they introduced Sex Education in schools by the time I hit high school, and they did the whole thing all over again, with colour slides. Then it was my turn to be embarrassed LOL.

My mom had this talk with me when I was 8, and I wasn't ready for it. From that point on, I was too interested in boys and their body parts. She also gave me this book that explained everything. She told me she thought I was old enough and intelligent enough to know these things. Yes, I was an excellent student, but THIS talk and the things that it meant were the furthest thing from my mind at that age.

Yes, there was some talk. I was totally disinterested. I never got the babies thing. I worked out sex pretty easily but I had no intention of ever having babies, and I stuck to my resolution.

yeah, I think I was thirteen. My mom was getting ready to go out to dinner with my stepdad and she gave me a straight out sex talk (none of that "when a man loves a woman" type stuff...). Y'kno that deer-in-the-headlights reaction where you just don't know WHAT to do? Yeah, that was me. Sitting there. Listening. Trying to explain to her that I wasn't interested in guys like that just yet.

Years passed with very little of these talks, but once I hit my junior year she seemed to have monthly talks about who I liked and the facts of life.

She's always been really straightforward about those akward subjects =P

The only thing my parents ever told me was not to let anybody touch me anywhere that it made me feel uncomfortable. Wow, what a birds and bees talk! I was probably around 12.

This is not how I reacted, but a friend told me about when his father told him the Birds and Bees story. He just looked at his father and said,"What an awful thing to do to a friend!"

I remember being at the hardware store with my Dad when I was four or so. He was buying seeds to plant the garden and I asked him if he and Mom had bought a seed to grow me. He answered "yes". My follow-up question was if there were seeds for boys and girls. Again, yes. That was the extent of "the talk".

They never told me, it was sorta a learning experience. I was in the hospital and my mom was giving birth to her 7 child so I guess I found out the hard way. lol.
