After thirty years of teaching, I still get choked up when one of my students "gets it", or when they share something personal with me, and I realize how tough so many of our little ones have it. When I do something for a child that seems so totally inconsequential to me, and they make a big deal of it. I have left those little note cards in kids' desks for them to find, notes that said something about how much I care for them, etc., and then later I would see one of the poorest children from the worst home take his note out of his pocket - one that he'd kept for months - and read it to himself during class.

Ditto the things that brings tears to your eyes (except for the Labour and Delivery part,) plus elderly gentlemen shopping on their own and when I see that they are buying single ready made meals which is an indication that their wives have passed away and they are fending for themselves. That gets me everytime! Young couples holding hands and looking so in love...aaah! hearing little kids asking us why we walk with crutches....they usually ask "don't your legs work properly?" bless 'em. Other things that do it are hearing about heroic people who put others before themselves, seeing the coffins being offloaded from planes of someone who has lost their life in Iraq or Afghanistan, babies on tv whose parents are appealing for a donor because their child will die without one. There are allsorts of sad and happy moments that get to me....don't know if it's got anything to do with me being menopausal or if it's just how I am. I've always been sensitive to these things but seem to be even more so these days. xx

I read that question the first thing I thought of was the birth of a baby. There are so many moving stories, some beautiful and some sad.
Last night on TV I saw a moving story, which had me crying, about a young boy of 18 who is Autistic, and has three brothers. They way the family have coped with it is absolutely amazing. And now another young man has come into his life, and started a Courier business, he drives, and the 18 year old Autistic boy, goes into the offices and deliver the parcels.
Everyone knows him in the offices, and well... I just ended up in a heap of tears.

I am a well of happy and awed tears!...let it be a bittersweet moment or a time of unparalleled joy in another's life and the tears flow, along with a smile and a song in my heart of hope. I even tear up at the written word when those words flow from the heart and describe an emotion I have felt or wish to feel. My kids tease me ALL the time about this!

I am also a sensitive person. I cry when listening to patriotic music, I also worked maternity, and went over for C sections and always cried on seeing that miracle new born screaming and thinking how jealous I was cause my 3 kids were already grown up and how I loved to sit in the nursery rocking chair rocking and feeding the newborns,I miss that now that I'm retired.

Depending on mood; some classical music movements, some compassionate poetry, interplay between people in actual life or movies. I don't tear up often, but it's usually due to some compassionate, loving action that a human has extended to another living creature.

I worked on obs gyn in the early 70's and it was an awsome experience. Not much moves me to tears anymore, but I cry everytime I see the movie "The Notebook".

One thing that makes me tear up is the commercial where the man and the little boy are fishing and a voice says "Take me fishing because I miss my boy". My second son passed away 3 years ago and this commercial will make me cry if I am alone.

As I have grown older I find more and more things move me to tears...
But the main thing that brings me to tears is my twin boys sound asleep in bed. They were born 15 weeks prematurely and were not expected to survive. After 5 long months in hospital they finally came home. Sometimes I am overwhelmed by how lucky we are to have them with us.
