Using higher wattage bulbs with stock wiring is a recipe for disaster, but there's still hope.

You could go with an HID conversion kit. HID or "high intensity discharge" make use of a gas, usually xenon and a ballast system to generate light. You see them on a lot of higher end cars and imports such as BMW's and Mercedes-Benz, but they are starting to make their way onto other vehicles as well.

They are a little higher initial cost, but are cheaper in the long run because there is no filament to break, and the cool part is, they draw the same power as a stock bulb, with twice the light output!

NOTE:
They aren't exactly legal if your car didn't come equipped with them from the factory, but I think (???) that HID was an option with the 2001 accord, so you shouldn't have a problem. (check local laws before proceeding)

Also, since HID bulbs don't contain filaments, if your car has a dual filament stock bulb such as a 9003 or H3/H4 bulb, you will lose the ability to use your bright lights, although some HID kits have the ability to momentarily change the angle of the light output to simulate high beams. HID's are so bright though you will find yourself rarely using high beams anyway.

Aftermarket HID kits are expensive and aren't as good as bmws and mercs... i have personally tries them and they could be glitchy. I will recommend you Flosser's 145/100 W h4 p43t halogen bulbs. You just have to attach a 200 watt (400 watt recommended) relay without any cutting of stock wiring. You can also try Ring 160/100 W bulbs. You will enjoy the halogen ones morethan the HID kit.

The OEM plugs/harness are made to handle 55 watts. Trying to draw 100 watts through the OEM harness will result in melted wiring and a very high chance of a fire
