cigarettes were banned for all practical purposes. don't see much of it, anyway. why not to that for horribly unhealth food like cheap burgers and greasy chicken and the rest. it can wreck the body as sure a cigarette of pipe. still not clear on cigars.

KFC should because of the way they torture chickens. Maybe we all should go eat subs and salads.

KFC and McDonald's should not be banned because they are affordable and are resourceful for a meal on the go. Fast Food. Not to mention it is too costly to eat healthy all the time. Have you seen the cost of veggie burgers and organic food? They are outrageous.

Food should be consumed in moderation and people need to be more active in life to avoid obesity and burn calories.

Some athletes admit that they eat greasy foods all the time but they are so active that they never keep the fat on them.

Of course they should not be banned. Just because some people overdo it does not mean that the right to eat as one wants to should be taken away from all of us.

I personally do not eat at McDonald's but have gone to KFC with people on occasion. I would hate to see the place forced to close because some citizens believe that others are either gaining too much weight or are eating in an unhealthy manner.

As far as cigarettes, they are not banned. There are restrictions on cigarette smoking in public areas but cigarettes are legal and are not banned.

Thank you for allowing me to give you my opinion.

Why not ban the other fast food places, too? Why pick on only 2 of them?

And, while you're at it, why not ban desserts, too, and alchohol, and vehicles that go over 30 MPH, and coffee, and television, and rock music, and everything else anyone thinks might be "bad" for us?

Have you ever heard the word "moderation"? If you go to KFC or McDonald's every day to eat, that isn't healthy. But, if you go once every couple of months, it's going to ruin your health.

By the way, cigaretts are sold here at every grocery store and gas station in town. They are not banned.

anarchopax said it very well! Why would you want to try to control what others do, forcing them to do what you think is best? People make choices every day. Some choose to eat "healthy and natural" food and some choose to eat food that, although it may not be "good for you", tastes good!

If you do not like McDonald's and KFC, no one is forcing you to eat there! The provide a product that people want, and are able to make money doing so! There is obviously not a great demand for the "healthy" food, or else there would be businesses offering it!

You want to ban things that you do not personally agree with. Throughout history there have been people who think like you. They want to force others to adapt to their view of the world. Hitler, Bin Laden, and Stalin all come to mind.

Where are you? You can still smoke a cigarette, just not in a bar or restaurant, therefore they really aren't banned.

If KFC and MCD's are banned it should include poor customer service. Both of the joints in my town are filthy and are staffed with mean, uncaring individuals who couldn't care less if you have what you ordered. I don't know what this country is going to do with these places because as Americans we just get wider and wider.

No, and neither should cigarettes. Just because they can be harmful doesn't mean people shouldn't have the right to them if they please. If you think fast food is dangerous, then you educate people on the dangers to try and persuade them. But people have the right to make decisions for themselves. If you ban fast food because it is potentially harmful, then what's next? Cars? Medicine? Forks?
