Right now the only ones I can name are:
-Ghana/Nigerian dating scams (you end up sending money)
-Craigslist IP-Relay scams ("Hello this is ___ do you have __ for sale? ...ok email me") ...also Nigerian
-Email scams (Congratulations you won some foreign lottery/inheritance/stored money)

Can anyone name any others? About 90% of these scams involve Yahoo accounts so I figured here is a good place to ask!

1>Russian "women" contact you and tell you they need an American sponsor. They send a pic of some GORGEOUS young female and eventually ask for money for "airfare" to come and be with you.
2> they e-mail telling you your bank account or PAYPAL account will be blocked unless you update info (on their FAKE website)--this is identity theft
3> they tell you you need to update your eBay or Amazon account or you will not be able to log on. If you click THEIR link, you are taken to a PHONY look -alike web site and your ID is stolen, followed by items charged to your account sent to them

I know that if an email comes from someone I don't know it's spam. All spam ends up in the trash. scam email is among the spam category. I don't pay any attention (except to laugh that some people want to enlarge certain aspects of my manhood....then I just give it a hearty chuckel before hitting the delete button).

www.snopes.com is a good source of information on them, though, as well as those pesky chain letters that your friends send you about virus warnings.
