Question;
What gives a penis that characteristic odor?

1. In an uncircumsized penis, this could be a result of bacteria growing down there.

2. Special sweat glands in that area produce pheromes too, special chemicals that the opposite sex is attracted to. The pheromes give that characteristic musky, masculine smell to a man.

Whatever the case, guys should make sure they bathe properly and wash their penises regularly.

It's dark there and sweat forms...not washing will add the odor of bacteria growing and that can stink. Smell is not a whole lot different than a woman....but thank god for the difference.

Not to be rude but why don't you ask this in the Women's section or the bisexual-transgender section. I have never heard other guys take about penis odor........

pheromones and the sweat glands in that area and the odors are trapped and held in the hair. They are determined by what you put into your body.

If kept clean, the penis should not smell at all.

An uncircumcised penis can create 'smegma', which is a natural lubricant but if its owner showers daily, it shouldn't be a problem.

Please don't indicate that all penises smell because they don't.

could be from not being circumsized, other reasons could be because its dang near in covered all day so it tends to get hot which can ulitmately lead to sweat and moisture. and THEN if one does not take a bath then uh, ...man, bring on the funk!!!!

Two things....
1. Diet
2. Personal Hygiene

Address both and there should be none.
