There is no such thing as running up the score in professional football. This is their job. This isn't juniors when the teams have hardware store logos on the jerseys and everyone gets to play a quarter. If you don't want them to run it up, STOP THEM! if you can't thats just your fault. Indy did a very good job of slowing them down. I have a feeling Pittsburgh will do a decent job too. And exactly what do you think happens to the player who takes a run at Brady? He doesn't make it off the field. Thats a fact. That team is unified behind that man. Taking a shot at Brady would set off the mother of all football brawls. There is no way anyone wants him that bad. And by the way I don't remember anyone one crying for New England when Indianapolis went for two with 5 min left when they were up 38-17. You know who especially wasn't crying? Belichick. He just took note and learned and waited his turn. This merciless embarrassment of the NFL is a product of that and everyone who questioned whether the Superbowls were valid because of the camera thing (which was complete nonsense and every member of the media knew it. Including me. please feel free to email me if you want that explained) They are simply show how good they really are.

i'm not going to get any votes for best answer on this question, but i think everybody needs to stop getting on the Pats for running up the score on people. so they throw the ball, that's just how they play football. they are down to using fullbacks in the backfield for much of the game, and with their best players at wide receiver, it just makes sense that they pass the ball to win the game (against conventional wisdom) because like it or not, that's their percentage game. Brady doesn't throw interceptions, so it's almost less risky throwing it than running it and risking fumbles. that's how confident they are in the pass. so don't take it as running up the score, they're just playing football.

and what if they don't go for it on fourth down? kick a field goal to score? come on. it's a 4th and short deep in the red zone. they're not helping themselves, they're actually giving the other team an opportunity to get the ball back without the Pats scoring any points! now if the defense could make a play, this would be a non-issue. they'd get a stop, and they'd have the ball on offense. unfortunately, they are just that good that they can convert all of these 4th downs and turn them consequentially into touchdowns. it's no slap in the face to the other team, it's just an option that they decide to take. they're certainly not going to punt deep in the opponent's territory, so they are deciding to take the low percentage play to see if they can keep the drive alive instead of putting 3 on the board. it's smart.

and i'm guessing you're a Steelers fan or something, so i would have more faith and assume that the Pats would not be in the position to "run up the score" on your team.

First of all, Kimo von Olehoffen rolled into Palmer's knee by mistake. If you take the time to look at the film, you will see that he feel on the ground as Palmer was stepping into his throw. It happens all the time in football. That is why it is called a "contact sport." Also, as soon as he saw Palmer laying on the ground in pain, he shook his head and pounded his fist in the ground because he knew what had happened and was not happy about it. Most players do not want to hurt other players.

As for Brady and The Patriots, they would be one of the lone exceptions. The general feeling around the league is that New England is the big bully on the block and they think that they can't be beat. Their demeanor and their coaches demeanor exude more arrogance than confidence. Also, with their apparent high scores and going for on 4th down with a big lead, it does not sit well with players and their pride. So, I believe that Pittsburgh is going to look to inflict pain on Brady no matter what the situation. No matter if it is the 4th quarter or the 1st. If the score is tied or the lead is 40 points in either direction, the Pittsburgh defense is built around getting to the QB and intimidating the opponent, especially ones as smug as the New England Patriots.

I'm not a Steelers fan, but I don't they're a bunch of cheap shot artists. If they were going to lose to the Pats, I think they'd do it without resorting to cheating. I'm a Bengals fan, and I don't think that hit on Carson was cheap.

At this point, I don't know that taking out Brady would work. They could probably beat anyone even with Cassel in there.

First of all retard. Its not the NE fans that run our mouth about other teams you silly little boy, its other teams that run there mouths about us. If you want to see a torn ACL, why dont you Pad-up and go play for the steelers that game. When you leave the game for breaking a nail and is rushed to the hospital you can sit in your nice warm bed with your gay little night gown watching the steelers loose by 21 points.

i dont think the steelers would do it intentionally if it did happen it would be a straight up hit, the steeler wont play down to the patsies level on the class issue, well at least not since joey porter went to the dolphins if porter was still there i could see him taking a cheap shot at brady....either way if someoone does take a cheapshot at brady i wouldnent be suprised it would be fitting for it to happen, and i wouldent lose a wink of sleep over it

The Steelers will not stoop down to NE's level by cheating to win. i think they will conduct themselves with class and play great defense. As much as I despise belichick and his classless ways, I don't think intentionally injury a player should be an option. The steelers must put pressure on brady to have a chance. I'm going to go ahead and call the upset. Pitt - 38 NE-31

Well it would be, seeing as the former coach of the Steelers said that it would be a very real possiblity!!! However they need to get to Brady first!!!

Only Coach Cowher would command a cheap shot, luckily hes not there anymore, Tomlin doesn't play that garbage. However, seeing as how Pittsburgh couldn't beat the Jets today, I don't see how they are going to slow down an offense that actually has recievers.

They would definitely get severely punished by the league if they went and intentionally took a cheap shot at Brady.
