Is your washer and dryer in your unit or is it shared with all units? In my experience, shared washers and dryers that are placed against a shared wall of an apartment make lots of noise. The people in the apartment next to the laundry room were always complaining. In fact, we have enforced hours that are appropiate for washing.

YES: they do make oise and take up most of the water, as where I live most people work late hour's, I wash early in the day.
a dryer in the apt: hummm, that is a riskything to have not enough ventilation.
but if no one had complaine to you then keep washing . when you do::

My old apartment we could hear the washer and dryer as we shared that wall. I think the sound is acceptable background noise, with the exception of when the washer load gets unbalanced and you hear that loud "ka-thunk ka-thunk ka-thunk".
maybe if your washer and dryer shares a wall with a bedroom is the only other time I can think it may be a problem.
