Like the 3rd guy said, go for it. Take what you love and make it your career. Cause like the other guy said, you will live it 24/7. But.... if its something you love, who cares if you live it AND get paid, right?
Some ideas to show how simple it is....
Like to take walks, listen to birds, collect pine cones? Pack the cones with peanut butter, bird seed, saran wrap them and now sell them as natural bird feeders. 50 cents invested, nature walks, and at least 2.00 profit each.
like horses? find 5-20 acres or so that is considered worthless building land on the out part of where you live. Not much, normally something in the $1-2k per acre range. Set up a small shed, water well, few hay rings, simple metal stake and wire fence. You now are in the horse boarding business. Avg board is $2-400 per horse and about 1 per .5 to 1 acre. Meaning, 10 acres is at least 10 horses say at $300 each or $3000 per month sales. 10 acres land, 20k mortgage, about $200 a month. Man thats hard work huh.
Panel van, ladder, gloves, trash bags, rope, biz cards. Knock on 30 doors a day in rich areas and offer gutter cleaning service or something similar. Charge $50 for the service. In a day of knocking on 30 doors, 6 will say yes at $50 each or $300 a day. After expenses, taxes you'll easily take home net of $1000 per week.
I myself do automotive touch up paint work and charge $75 a car to dealerships. Takes me hour or less per car and maybe $3 a car. Easy $70 an hour. If I paint a bumper I increase that to around $100 per hour. And my newest thing is restoring fogged headlights, that is $70 profit every 15 mins. Even do web sites for mom n pop car dealers at around $50 per hour.
And remember, no one starts out big. My paint biz started out as 17 bottles of paint in the back of an old Honda. Today the company is on its 8th SUV truck with total custom mobile set up as a rolling body shop. Even ebay started out in a rented home between 2 females selling dresses. Apple computers started out as 2 friends wanting to invent a game. Everyone starts in a "garage".
Its very easy to make money, just a matter of seeing the money past the want ad's. I use to be suit n tie corporate world, even was offered to run West VA for a national company. When I gave my answer on the offer, my answer was... I QUIT!!
15 yrs later.... it was the best move I ever did for security, sanity, health, maturity, learning and money. The red tape scares are myths. Dive in, its actually easier than you think.

Well, if you are going to do something crazy like quit your job and start your own company, do it when you are young! Worst case scenario? You dump a lot of money into this product and it doesn't work out. Then you can just get another data entry/finance job and pay off the debt you created - but at least you tried!! Nobody ever made it big by playing it safe, I say go for it! That being said, you should do A LOT of research in the meantime while you still have a job and try to work out the details of exactly how much this is going to cost you and where to get the money for it.

Holy smokes...if you get the entreprenurial bug...by all means GO FOR IT. Don't listen to the first poster.
That said, here are some sites that should help a lot, but bottom line, it's going to have to be something that you love so it won't be a drag for you to get up every day for it.

Good luck and hope to see you on the cover of Entrepreneur magazine!

Forgot to add, no one has made millions from working for someone else without being a crook (i.e. CEOs). Being your own boss gets you out of the rat race and allows you the chance of making your millions.
Again, though, I strongly urge you to check out those 2 sites so you get a better feel on what it takes to run a business.

A online travel business is something to consider. I prefer not to post a link here or provide info. However, finding the links with all the info and how to contact me is very easy.

If you're going to, make sure it's something you love to do, and are willing to work about 24 1/2 hours a day at.
