First, it is important to know the name of the anti-depressant as not every one will have the same possible side effects.
Also, the key words here, are "possible side effects." Not every single person will have adverse affects of a prescribed medication.
The best advice that anyone can give you is discuss this issue/concern with your Doctor and/or Pharmacist. They are the best ones to give you the answers that you are searching for.

If I were you, I would seek more cognitive and behaviorial therapies and look for another doctor. Regardless of whether or not you have a disorder, you are a person who wants to have the best life possible while managing your illness. I absolutely agree with you that you need different therapy or medication that has less side effects. Perhaps a lower dosage might help. A doctor who dismisses your complaints regarding side effects is a doctor who needs replacing. Side effects are a major concern for you and you have a right to seek other methods that will benefit you. Don't forget about God too. He is able to give abundant life to everyone and set the captives free. You have been a captive to your disorder and you need freed. I will pray that your life has a major turn around for the better. Keep believing and fighting for a better life. God bless you!

It depends on you and the antidepressant you use, you may need to try a few. I have difficulty reaching an orgasm when on them, but I'm over 50 so maybe if I was younger it's be better. However if depression really takes hold, then sex along with the rest of your life goes out of the window so you need to deal with it. Unfortunately the antidepressants take time to work, but the side effects start right away. Also if you drink alcohol then it'll make them useless, street drugs and drink will override medication and combining them is a bad idea.
Although pills can be essential, talking therapies (CB) also work and together with tablets give the best relief. Take your illness seriously - it's the biggest killer of young men (through suicide) there is. Also exercise and sunshine are good, I found walking essential to recovery, good luck.....

some antidepressants can lower the sex drive. On the other hand, being less depressed can increase the sex drive.
Even so, there are individual differences in the side effects of the same med.

I tried Zoloft for a couple of weeks. It definately killed my sex drive. But, being depressed is a normal emotion like happyness or shyness and I you're depressed because you're more likely to be if you're single or alone, have a disease, got a divorce, lost a friend or loved one,a job etc. The number of single people compared to hapyly married or coupled people who are also healthy, have a job they like, aren't homeless, starving or having to fight in a war are probably less depressed than people who don't have most of that and buying so called anti-depressants will not make these missing needs come to you. The pharmacutical manufactureres/Psychiatric industry people don't take these drugs. Because they make enough money to live well from desperate people who aren't being told the truth. Taking the drug won't change your reality in any way. Except for making you have less money. Psychiatrists and the Pharmacuticals, they're just profiting from the misery of the the have nots.

It depends on the drug itself. I take Efexor XL (I think it's branded as Effexor in the US, but I may be wrong) and have noticed a lack of sex drive as a result, as mentioned in the possible side effects. Talk to your doctor about it. But hey, if your drive is crazy anyway, you'll probably manage ok!

Go to the library or the net and read up on your specific medication. Each has its own side effect profile.

What are you planning on taking? I was taking Effexor and found that I had virtually no sex drive and this was on a low dose. If you do feel like it, it takes a while to orgasm when you are taking them. this was my experience with Effexor.

I would hope you have a physician who has advised you of the side effects of any anti-depressant you are going to be taking.
