"Typewriter" is, of course, a classic, with a twist of humor. But many don't seem to realize that it is not the only one. There's also: "perpetuity", "proprietor" and "repertoire".
Also, these rarer words have been suggested:
pepperroot, pepperwort, pewterwort, pirouetter, prerequire, pretorture, repetitory, tetterwort
And there are even LONGER ones-- if you can find them!
11 letters: rupturewort (this one IS real!)
12 letters: proterotype, pituitotrope, uropyoureter
Also "teetertotter" (though it is often spelled with a hyphen)

Haha.
Typewriter.
Usually the question's asked "what ten-letter word can be spelled using only the letters on the top row of a standard typewriter?"

That's a tough one. I can give you eight letter words :
PROPERTY REPORTER TROTTER PRIORITY
but a ten letter word has me stumped!
