Well we travel from NY to NJ for christmas, that's where all my family is.

Wake up - usually around like 9, that's an everyday thing.
Eat breakfast ( I have to eat before I open gifts... )= )
THEN OPEN PRESENTS! I usually open big to small!

Then we gather the whole family together, we all HAVE to help out and cook. And we all give eachother our gifts.

Then we eat, and we have a tradition where we all watch a christmas movie...joy... lol.

For the first time in many, many years ...
on or about 1 Dec -- Christmas Lights outside go up!
Clean the house (all the time)
Put down the NEW Wood Parquet Flooring in my Master Bedroom
Finish Tiling my Great Room
Pick up my special someone at the airport for the Holidays (just before Christmas!)

ON CHRISTMAS DAY --
SLEEP IN ...
Wake up with my Special Someone ...
Enjoy a break-fast together ...
Clean the dishes/pots/pans ...

Then ...

Prep for our Christmas Dinner,
Start the cooking,
Get some Christmas DVDs running

When the Turkey is done ...
EAT!

After that -- well, we will see!

My Christmas schedule will start on 27th November when I arrive back home in England after being in Singapore since June. We will have a family get together on that day. Then on 1 December we will go in the loft and get the decorations down, we have a big light up Christmas tree that goes in the garden and counts down how many days to Christmas, so that will go up on 1 December also. On 5th December we are going to see a Spirit of Christmas Show at the Theatre, on 6th December we will have a "semi" Christmas dinner (using Chicken instead of Turkey) and put up our decorations. Then we will spend our time shopping, wrapping, writing, visiting. We will go to Garden Centres which are decorated for Christmas, we will take the grandchildren to visit Father Christmas and let them choose their party outfits (well the Granddaughter who is 6 will choose, maybe not the 3 year old Grandson). We will drive around and post all our local cards and look at houses with lots of lovely lights. We will go to watch the School Christmas Plays and have a Christmas Party on the evening of the last day of school. On Christmas Eve we will go to the childrens Nativity Service and then out to eat at a local pub which has a childrens early evening disco, we will get the children into bed and wait until they are fast asleep and then begin gathering all the presents together and sorting them into piles and filling pillowcases. Probably 1 in the morning we will go home to bed and wait for our daughter to ring to tell us the children are awake then we will go round to their house, watch them open presents, cook, eat, play and finally collapse after (hopefully) a lovely day. On 26th December it is leftovers and playing with toys and trying to find new homes for them all and on 27th December we will go to the Pantomime.
It will be wonderful but on 28th December we will be happy that it is over and we have had another great Christmas

The day?

Wake up-whenever
Open gifts when everyone is up
Rest for the rest of the day (we have no family that we go visit)

But for the general time-a couple days before (generally the Saturday) we meet with my mum's side of the family for lunch and then swap gifts between cars. Then on Christmas Eve I generally usher at the 11 PM church service. We used to go have dinner with my dad's parents on Christmas night, but they both have passed on now.

Do not have a real schedule, just aim to get everything done.
Things are always hectic, but you always seem to muddle through, and everything goes to plan on the day.
When it is over, as every year, the first thing I do is to take a deep breath, thank God, and get on with the next 365 days.
