Paul McCarthy

John Lennon. What's with calling Paul McCartney better because he outlived Lennon and therefore had more albums? It doesn't make sense at all. I understand people have opinions, but that's odd. Unless, of course, you're talking about who was more successful. That would be Paul McCartney of course.

Anyway, I feel Lennon had a steadier discography than Paul McCartney, and by that, I mean his albums were better if you could take the average the greatness of the albums. His first two are among the greatest albums in rock 'n' roll, and his third and fourth albums are solid. I'd count Double Fantasy, but he did that with Yoko Ono and most of his works with Ono aren't great.

I'll admit that many of my favorite songs by the Beatles are either written by Paul or written mostly by Paul (even though I feel Lennon made the more unique songs), but I'm not a fan of his solo works. Maybe a couple songs, but what he achieved in the Beatles and the Wings was much better. None of his albums have been considered the best either. Maybe some were acclaimed, but not to the level of Lennon's first two works. McCartney comes third, after George Harrison.

Paul had the most successful solo career but overall, I prefer George's or John's solo efforts to Paul's. I wasn't much of a fan of his group Wings.

I think it would be John or George. A lot of their songs were really good and unique. The solo songs from John that I love are "Imagine", "Mind Games", and "Watching The Wheels", which are all amazing songs. The George solo songs I like the best are "What Is Life", "Crackerbox Palace", and "All Things Must Pass".

Not even close: Ringo Starr

Seriously, it's Paul by far. Wings, man. Wings. Lennon's solo career was a little Yoko heavy (the guy did "Woman is ****** of the World" for christ sake!).

It depends on what you mean by "best". In terms of quantity of work produced and money made...its Paul. In terms of quality of work...I'd go with John. George wrote some great songs, produced some movies, and played with the Traveling Wilburys. And Ringo was in Caveman.

So, they've all done stuff since the band broke up.

It has to be Paul because John died too soon. George did ok and Ringo is still living large, but the world seems to eat up what Paul does.

Paul had so many hits with the Beetles and then when he had wings with his former wife Linda McCartney. I liked his music in either setting. He is even trying now with that cd that was selling at Star Bucks.
