Play world of warcraft, if you are ready to be hooked for as long as you have any money in your pockets. That game is the most fun I've played so far.
Half Life - gary's modification is lots of fun too. I'd say it follows WoW.

Do not get World of Warcraft if you ever want to leave your house again. I have mostly been playing The Orange Box, Call of Duty 4, Halo 3, and Guitar Hero 3 just to name a few.
